OK #NewcastleAU #NewcastleNSW I'm looking for help with a Chinese cooking wine please.
I used to be able to buy Guangdong rice cooking wine (by Shi Wan Pai) at a couple of the Newcastle shops, but I haven't seen it up here in quite a while. The last one I got was in Tuggerah, inside the Westfield there.
I specifically want this cooking rice wine because it seems to be safely gluten free, and DW has coeliac disease. It's made from just glutinous rice, water, salt, those Shanghai rice wine yeast balls which are GF safe.
Please tell me if you've seen it in Newcastle, and where. We shop at basically all of the Asian grocers in the area. Did see it once at the Nepalese shop in Birmingham Gardens but they've dropped their Chinese range (honestly it's amazing they fit what they do into that shop!)
Tonight's leftover drunken chicken will be great, but I don't want it to be the last one! (or I could hop a train to Tuggerah or Sydney I guess!)
