A few Bitcoin network insights from my talk at Advancing Bitcoin @ London:
- DNS seeds robust but room for improvement (e.g. tor support)
- 13,000 unique reachable nodes
- Half of the network is tor-only nodes (prob. Umbrel)
- More cloud than self-hosted nodes (Hetzner, DigitalOcean, AMZN alone contribute 25% of nodes)
- Potential second-order effect of ASMAP: reducing network cohesion
