Sure, you got a $1,000 donation but if it came with an apology that it took listening to 1,000 episodes before they ever donated, you just got a bulk delivery of $1 per episode in tips, technically less than that when adjusted for inflation.
Normies understand "tip your server" without needing to confuse them with cryptic podcaster jargon like V4V.
