With other creatures you get away with so much more but we immediately know when skin tone is wrong. I admit I tend to base with a light skin tone then make super light washes with reikland flesh and loads od acrylic medium so I can just tone it all in glazes. Then I'll do purple in some deep areas. A lot of work for not a lot of results.
