The elk don't range as far as my house, but we have lots of deer.
Many years ago, I was charged by a bull elk that came crashing through the trees at Prairie Creek State Park. One of the people in my group started yelling and waving arms, and the elk hesitated and then turned away. It was an experience for sure.
