I can see how this might be for not yet sold watches, but already sold one? You press update, and begone are at least some features that you paid money to “buy”?
Bad enough if you do it like Samsung that simply did not deliver on a feature that they sold a watch with (“ECG will be enabled in the near future by an update”) but taking away features because they are too cheap to pay for licences?
