Why should all food be saccharine? You need to eat a variety of foods, not just those that are sweet.
Conceptually, I think language is the same, and in this analogy, the food for thought. I don't think higher order thoughts can exist without language that is hurtful or uncomfortable. Vapid "normie" types feed on nothing but sweets. They are obese of thought, gluts for positive, happy language.
I've thought about this a lot lately in context of the nostr mainstream/bitcoin proto-influencers and the culture clash with edgy fedi users. I have been looking for a way to describe in a more academic sense why you should be able to not just say but to call someone a nigger, a cunt, a bitch, whore, slut, faggot etc. Unrestricted thought cannot exist without unrestricted language. I don't even think you need a lot, but rocking the verbal boat so to speak is necessary to disrupt the vapid patterns of thought. Toss people into the water once in a while, but pull them back in the boat once they learn their lesson.
