I love “The Disappearing Spoon,” a science history podcast, but I was incredibly frustrated by the most recent episode, about Leonardo da Vinci.
As I listened to Sam Kean describe him, it was immediately, abundantly clear to me that da Vinci had ADHD! A cursory internet search showed that scholars have arrived at the same conclusion.
But there was no mention of this in the episode, and instead, Sam Kean was like, “if only da Vinci had had enough grit and focus to really apply himself…”
😡 😤
