Damus is new, a lot of people are just testing what features it has, how it works and whether it is a platform worth devoting time and energy to.
Also for a brief moment it was an oppurtunity for some suppressed nations to experience freedom and ownership.
It is still incredibly early and you will need to build up your own follow list to start seeing the content you want. Also you'll have to find it first.
I imagine over time that Damus will find innovative ways to tackle these challenges. I'm looking forward to it!
