Here's the introduction of Siri in 2011 on the iPhone 4S. In that demo, Siri was able to follow context, so you could just say “Reply” instead of having to say “Reply to Phil Schiller”. Forstall even said "I've been in the AI field for a long time, and this stuff blows me away!"
I guess he was right to be blown away, because it's 2025 now, and that hasn't worked in Siri for a loooong time.
They shouldn't have fired Scott for the Maps debacle.
