I don't think its a question of whether it could be done, the terrain in the US is too difficult and too vast for the military to maneuver during large periods of the year. The question is *if* it would happen, people here look to the government to solve their problems and believe what they are told; I think we are far from a popular uprising, we are closer to a popular authoritarian overthrow of what little civil rights we have left.

I'm not exactly sure where that situation leaves us, but being prepared to lose is something I have considered over the last year. I am not saying "what if we all get rounded up?", its more like "how do you stay safe and sane as the government exerts increasing dominance over your life and there's no clear path to the freedom you wanted to raise your family under?". The "Ron Paul revolution" never really got off the ground for instance, how have those involved dealt with the hand they were given? If you were a German dissenting from the Nazi party, or a Russian dissenting from the soviet union, or Chinese and dissenting from the CCP, how do you keep from losing hope? At what point is an exit more viable than the high standard of living you enjoy in the US? What level of obvious fuckery and immorality are you willing to put up with to put food on the table?
