Our sins are access points. Demons are legalistic and take full advantage of our assent when we sin against God. God makes all the rules. When a person practices occultism, etc., demons can give that person power but it costs the soul (without repentence). Satan himself, being the head demon, tempted Jesus in the desert in Luke 4 and he then learned Jesus was the Christ. 1/2",
