One of the big raps against Mastodon is that it's 'humorless' - it's just an attempt to remedy that. An attempt at lighthearted shitposting; often to me they come off as people who don't tell jokes trying to tell jokes, but at least they're trying, & who am I to tell them to stop?
Most of them I don't think are funny; but that was true of most viral hashtags I saw on Twitter, too. & TBF, as npub1pqtakvgalpnjmxadujd2lx456vy4qjmcqld7a4l5tzkdz4akzzzqd2th20 (npub1pqt…th20) put it [https://vis.social/@jhilden/110962008373232412], some of them live rent free in my head indefinitely.
