Also as a aviation fan I don't like the bashing of that area. Manufactures already have tested the next generation of turbine engines needing roundabout 20% less fuel. Plus the next step already is in research with the first hybrid engines.
I do not know any industrial area which invested more in more efficiency than aviation does.
Also first H2 Engines are tested in flight already.
