They work fine simply installed on the OS. They need to be configured to work including downloading required language packs, etc. and activated in the OS settings for TTS which allows enabling 1 TTS app at a time. Most of the open source ones require special setup by the user and are not designed to work seamlessly from simply being installed. They may also stop working due to issues.",
