in my experience depression caused me to be paralysed and unmotivated. my job and living situation were the cause of my depression. anti depressants prevented me from being completely dysfunctional but not until those situations change, did I feel okay.
perhaps examining other areas of your life in therapy might help? from what I've heard you speak, this seems like a longish issue. Also antidepressants take quite some time to show effects.
