The fediverse is not what you call "normal" (corporate) social media. It isn't intended to be. The fediverse has existed since 2008, and many of us chose to come here because we dislike what you call "normal" social media. I've "only" been here since 2020.
If people are coming here solely because Musk bought Twitter and they want a clone of pre-2022 Twitter, they are going to be disappointed with independent fedi instances and should go to threads.net instead.
I do find it hilarious that you're complaining about "blatant misinformation" and "brigading" on free fedi instances, considering on threads you have Chaya Raichik, Gays Against Groomers, Moms for Liberty, and a whole host of other high-profile misinformation and bigotry spreaders. Trans folks who post about anything on corporate social networks do get brigaded.
