Note: I say this on a fedi instance that consists almost exclusively of "hardware glued together in someone's bedroom" and I happen to know most of the people involved in that.
But I pay into the SDF mastodon because I know that it has the better chance of long-term survival (SDF's been around for 20+ years, I don't see them going under any time soon).
