Device naming recommendation: the chemical elements.
Example: the new Mac mini is 'curium'.
Use its atomic number in your IP addressing scheme: 10.x.x.[number] for the Wi-Fi interface, 10.x.x.[number + 100] for Ethernet.
So curium gets 10.x.x.[96|196].
Easy to remember. Hundreds to choose from. I've been doing this for years and it's 💯👌🏼
