The case isn't about intent so much as it is about the sheer negligence, and the evidence against him as both actor and producer and some other people on production is pretty damning in the realm of being reckless and negligent in their handling of firearms throughout the entire production. It seems like this was preventable by sticking to basic safety standards they routine ignored.
