To be honest, I would use an airgapped wallet with a self created key. I only have experience with SeedSigner but it’s one of the best things you can use!
You might tend to chose a super convenient solution like a hardware wallet, but I would recommend to do it the most secure way possible, even if it might appear a little challenging (which it isn’t). You might become more paranoid in future and change it again.
If you decide to use a seedsigner with a self created key, it’s also a nice part of the present to assemble and set it up together.
I used a lot of different methods to secure seeds but this is the best I can think of and still not highly complicated.

Quick nostriches safety check.
How many safety points does your stack achieve? Does anyone get a 5/5?
1. Bitcoin in cold storage 🥶
2. Seed securely saved (indestructible & safe from other people) 🔐
3. Seed memorized 🧠
4. Seed was never displayed on a device that connects with the internet 📵
5. Seed was generated by yourself (manually with coin or dice) 🎲
Extra point: your self generated seed never got in front of a camera (also not active ones!).
