I have taken the lane because it's not safe for you to pass me here because it's too narrow. I know this because I've been on this road before or one very very much like this one. I also know from being on this road previously, that if you think you can get around me, you will, despite the lack of space to do so safely.
I'm very sorry to delay your very important journey for up to 90 seconds. If there had been a safe cycle lane, I would have been in it. Perhaps you can take that het up feeling you've got and find a few moments to complain to the council? If they build a lane, it would save both of us a lot of bother. I#d be safe and out of your way and you'd be able to get to that red light ahead of you so much faster.
