I put myself in that group. I only trust myself with so much in self-custody. It's about the same as the max amount I would keep in a bank savings account (the rest is invested). I'm good with the ETFs for the bulk of my btc.
I think the capability of self-custody with Bitcoin is very powerful and very necessary and much more important in countries like Iran.
I think I'm considering all the realistic risks when I'm allocating bitcoin between self-custody and ETFs. Self-custody also used to be much more important when a lot of people leave bitcoin on exchanges and it disappears. I had bitcoin on an exchange for 5 years and it was fine. But FTX really got me looking into Bitcoin and self-custody more closely. I'm still learning!!
