Hey, everyone, I need some help.
I need "classic" songs (hard rock, disco, classic pop – stuff Gen X and early millennials listened to Back Then™ – that are revered as classics but really questionable in terms of lyrical content.
Misogyny, racism, rape culture, whatever; if you can think of one or more songs that tick those boxes, drop some names.
Example: "My Sharona", written by a 25-year-old dating a 17-year-old, with ✨ interesting ✨ lyrics such as "always get it up for the touch of the younger kind".
That kinda songs. I'm writing something and I need some songs to reference. The more well-known and -liked and the uglier in hindsight, the better.
