I have not tried this so take with a grain of salt
I think you can lie about your dates of employment and pass a background check if you freeze TWN, then have actual paychecks to present within the range you claimed.
Example: you add a year of experience to the beginning of your time at company Y, then you have your last paychecks, and for company X before it you just pull paychecks from one year before you left.
This lets you smooth out short duration to fit 2 year expectation
