I was fiddling around with Alex's model, adjusting his features a bit (ahh, the things you can't do using real actors), and suddenly wondered what he'd look like with short hair.

The answer is... odd. But what's odder is that in my head, he was a bit upset. It seems he only had cropped short hair when he was a child in the Research department (for ease of testing), and going back to it would mean something had gone very wrong.
