I don’t understand how hallowed and revered an academic reconstruction can ever be. All the pagan beliefs were broken, the chain of faith irreparably severed. Going back now and listening to historians as they try to reimagine it turns it into a….hobby, in a way. It lacks spiritual momentum, it lacks intergenerational reverence.
We can’t just bring back a dead culture and start going through the motions, it lacks that critical component of heritage.
