Nobody needs to pay to listen to podcasts on Spotify. That's a fact.
Absolutely, you can pay extra for additional features, with Spotify, Podcast Addict, Pocket Casts, Fountain, and indeed Apple Podcasts. But that doesn't change the core fact that people are not "already paying a monthly subscription to Spotify to listen to podcasts". It's an important distinction to make.
Does Spotify benefit from podcasts? Yep.
