Creating is extremely hard. Criticizing is extremely easy.
What worked best for me was learning to disconnect the work from my personality. It hurts when you identify too much with what you create. But if you can see it from a distance, you might even thank the person criticizing—it helps you make something better next time.
I also remind myself: imagine if your best work was already behind you? The beauty of creating is knowing the best is always yet to come. Detach from ego, embrace feedback, and let every creation push you closer to that future masterpiece.
One of the hardest things about creating things, whether design or development, is that onlookers notice the flaws more often than the things you get right. You could get 95% of the things correctly and looking / working great, but that other 5% ruins the party because that’s all people notice.
Even when you are aware of it, the mere pointing out of the flaws makes one feel inadequate.
