#WordWeavers 8 Jan: How do you create characters who have depth?
You need to spend time with them so you can reveal their different aspects. As in real life, you can't know a person's depths if you don't encounter these different facets.
Sometimes you can suggest depth in a character without spending a lot of time with them by, say, revealing something about them aslant to what you've already shown. The reader then infers some depth. But truly rich, tangible depth takes time to create.
