The approach to nature was one of the key similarities, but there is also a significant difference there: in Norway you have the right to roam (and camp!) across all private land as long as you are not disturbing anyone in their private residence. In Canada you still have to respect «no trespassing» signs (at least, if you want to stay on the right side of the law).
But then, on the other hand, Canada has national and provincial parks Norway can only dream of… I spent a lot of time in the parks in the Kawartha Lakes area in the 10 years I lived in Peterborough.
