i'm not making the "muslims don't assimilate" argument, of course they do, everyone does eventually. but when you have 1) a poor population 2) of a lot over very culturally different folks 3) in large concentrations in proportion to your population 4) over a very short period of time, it's harder to assimilate them. it takes a LOT more resources.
