So I splurged a bit and took the first class option on the Night Jet sleeper train from Amsterdam to Vienna (on my way to Budapest). But so far it is absolutely worth it: spacious seats, proper beds, a toilet and shower just for our cabin, sleeping masks and slippers provided, a complimentary bottle of sekt, and a promise of a "special" vegan breakfast option. The cabin is shared with two others but so far it's just me. I could get used to traveling like this.
