I'm not sure if Bluesky has 3 or 4 yet, and 2 isn't applicable since there's only one ATProto-speaking server right now.
I think onboarding is probably number 1. For Bluesky it's easy because there's only one instance. The official app has made the decision to quickly onboard people to mastodon.social, which helps with onboarding but hurts overall.
