I spent 14 years (Australian Infantry) & (Australian underground mining operator)
My wife spent 14 years (Australian Airforce) & (Australian Coal Mining Geology). We lived entirely off of 1 salary $80k net & invested one salary $130k net in #Realestate & later (2017) into #bitcoin. We are now both retired, me in my 40’s, wife in her 30’s. We own our own home, 3 investment properties & an undisclosed amount of BTC that is secured in cold storage. We are frugal & live off rental income from IP’s whilst accumulating more BTC through DCA & any windfalls. I don’t highlight this to gloat, we are just very proud that we chose a strategy (avoiding any shitcoinery) & stuck to it for 20 years. We came from humble beginnings & avoided the “high life” adopting our own version of “The millionaire next door” mentality. I’m now mentoring my son down the same path (but obviously he’s free to do whatever he likes). Just felt like sharing this to highlight that it can be done if you choose a strategy & stick to it.
