Working on an article about Satoshi.
He was a great marketer and communicator.
If you read both his initial cryptography mailing list software announcement and his P2P forum announcement side by side, I think you'll see that he catered the message to each audience.
For the cryptographers/cypherpunks - Satoshi mentions "electronic cash" first - the cypherpunk holy grail - and then describes the issuance schedule.
For the P2P forum - Satoshi puts "P2P" first, doesn't mention the issuance schedule, but instead describes how it spreads out the trust we ordinarily pool in monetary authorities.
