The kicker was that Target Disk Mode used to work with USB-C (Share Disk still does!) but as of macOS 11, they changed it so you HAVE to use a TB cable. Which is not a cable I often carry with me. Like, I will from now on, but usually a 10 or 20Gbps USB-C cable is sufficient!",
