Reading about #LK99, I keep seeing people believing these discoveries happen because of #capitalism.
That's just false.
We have accumulating knowledge because many different kinds of societies in history decided that seeking truth is valuable.
Our capacity to make new discoveries is in no way dependent on (neoliberal) capitalism. If anything, in capitalism the pursuit of truth has been hindered by nearsighted focus on STEM.
We can celebrate #science without celebrating capitalism.
