Interesting take! I guess it’s probably better to sanitise once at insertion compared to do it each time you read the data, and also because it makes the DB portable since it’s supposed to be the source of truth.

I still like the idea of not taking this for granted, thou, and also because there might be use cases for saving non-sanitised data.
