2. One of the top candidates is an unknown named Călin Georgescu, a radical pro-Russia candidate who ran his campaign on TikTok and completely bypassed the normal channels
3. The other is Elena Lasconi, a relatively uninspiring TV actress who became a politician
4. He is FAR more inspiring, but also has some concerning cult-like messaging (like with Trump).
5. Prediction markets are giving her a 60% chance of winning
6. On Twitter, Romania is trending and people are saying "Ban TikTok"
The real risk here is that SHE wins, and then her backers resolve to "Crush The Menace Within", which gives Russia justification to "liberate" Romania.
