It looks to me like he was waiting behind a car that was trying to make a right turn. The actor starts to move forward but the car is still there. The actor gets mad and punches the peddle ramming the car in from of him. The actor accelerates so fast it pushes the car ahead of him out of the way. He continues with tremendous forward momentum into the restaurant. Very strange!
