I think it is a "fediverse effect". Just when you published the toot, the website stopped working. It seems to me that when ActivityPub synchronizes the toot with your URL, all the nodes that copy the toot make a request to the domain and produce a small DDoS attack. It happens with many servers that publish links in the Fediverse.
