The new album will finish recording "soon." Then it's time to mix.
I still don't know what track will be the single. I like a lot of them. We'll see, I suppose.
I'm hoping to use the single to raise money and put up a pre-order for physical version of the album. $1500 will get us a Lightning Limited version. That's expensive per-unit, and only 100 copies will be made if we go that route. But it's a solid option as it's the lowest barrier to entry.
500 copies of a standard vinyl release is in the neighborhood of $5000. Which is better per-unit, and gets us a bit more customization. I work for the pressing plant, so I could get maybe a better deal. But it's much more to recoup, and it's must more to come up with.
250 sounds like it would be a good middle ground, but it's really only a few hundred off from 500. There's a lot of cost tied up in lacquer cutting and plating, which doesn't really change much under 1000 units.
