Nostr will perform worse than Big Tech in authorian countries. Government can run its own relay, push all the events from the network but the ones they don't want you to see and grow it to the point every Nostr user from the country have it on their relay list. A lot users won't notice if government suddenly blocks all the relays but this one. A lot of users won't care even if they notice: they're here for some general non-polytical content, mainly entertainment, their experience won't change. It doesn't work like that with Big Tech social media: either you block it completely and cut off all the entertainment as well or you don't.
