keeping track of issuance is easy, not a problem
scaling and usage is hard
and people have certainly said that you should keep it as simple as possible if billions are going to use it for daily txs.
monero loses in that respect.
but for real, i dont think growth of processing power is going to flatten out.
and storage is cheap.
