quoting note1sxg…k2guIn my opinion, #NostrValley was a tremendous success. seth (npub15u3…05rq) and I organized this mini-conference over the course of a few months, and we delivered four hours of talks, panels, and announcements.
While we encountered a few technical issues with audio and video, nothing was a major setback. We aimed to stream through Nostr Nests but were focused on ensuring high-quality audio. For video, we wanted an optimal stream for Zap.stream but ultimately settled for a laptop stream. We also ran into a few other minor problems, like background music unexpectedly playing while I was speaking, microphone feedback, and one presenter being unable to connect their laptop. However, these types of glitches are common even at large conferences. We handled them and made it work.
We did receive offers from production companies to professionally stream and produce the event, but for an event of this size, the costs didn’t seem justified. After all, this was an event that was free to the public. The costs for the venue were paid by us.
Of course, there's room for improvement. For instance, I should have reached out to Ainsley (npub13qr…almy) earlier than just a month before the event about performing. Lesson learned—it’s tough to find a venue on short notice! I won’t make that mistake again.
Speaking of next time, we definitely plan to do this again. #NostrValley 2.0 will happen in the future and it will be glorious.
I know that I said this already, but I want to say it again. Thank you to each and every one of you that drove or flew from far distances to attend our event. It meant the world to us. You made this mini-conference into a success.
