My last IT job, because we had equipment from literally the 60s, 70s, and 80s, we still had Windows XP machines that I was constantly maintaining.
Between re soldering new capacitors onto half-dead motherboards and rewriting dll files.....Let's just say I feel your pain in the optics industry seriously needs some new manufacturers of equipment.
