I feel like you should really focus more on the “automation” aspect
I mean, hands-on is great, but it seems to me like it would be a way bigger win to take that skill and fundamental research and use it to design a series of Chambers of Repentance, maybe converted shipping containers with a variety of electrical, electronic, surgical, and pharmaceutical mechanisms inside to ensure the maximum amount of Penitential Sorrow is extracted from each subject (while sparing vital organs and tissues for future transplant)
