There’s lots of locally common stuff like grey warblers and shining cuckoos that would be great to be able to continuously record/count by call.
I wish I knew where to start with hardware. Imagine hundreds of rugged little hardware boxes around the country counting animals by call, 24/7/365. Birds, lizards, frogs, insects (the local wētā are very raspy at night) and pests too…
