Damn. I'd hoped to get my coffee & cheer the results. I went to bed with hope, & am now awake with a numb despair. I'll have to journal & reflect on what's happened.

I don't understand my country today.

I don't understand those who keep pushing hate like it's a fucking virtue, & voted for it AGAIN. Or how the bully could say the most nonsensical things & folks just nodded & shrugged. Did they hear ANY of it?

Yes, I'm in shock that this could happen. I had hope that civility would return, that being able to work together could happen again. Now we're going to have to deal with the biggest tribalist in the driver's seat pushing us further apart.

I'm a recovering recluse & an empath, & I'll have to try like hell not to let this push me back into my cave. Hatred gives me tangible pain. I'd hoped to not feel like I did in 2016, but this is worse. People didn't know what he would do then, but we've had years hearing what he wants. And they voted for it.
